Parchment

2006 Collective work Book – object “Parchment”

created as part of the Deux Temps project; Communication in the age of communication, and realized at Atelier de l’île, Val David, Quebec.

The book object Parchemin is composed of an engraving representing an original tree root drawing, made by Hélène Lemire. This engraving is glued on a paper material molded from a polymer plaster of tree bark imprint made by Claire Brunet.

A glass square on which is sandblasted an imprint of a tree leaf that was later colored with ink and printed on felt, made by Elise Lalumière, is placed with the other elements of the work, on the surface of a wool felt rectangle made by the team members under the direction of felt master Diane Gonthier.

All of these elements form an original work of art made in six copies, including a copy in legal deposit BANQ.
